Bureau Veritas strengthens Asia-Pacific and Greater China leadership
Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore has announced two senior leadership appointments in Asia Pacific and Greater China, reinforcing its regional structure as the maritime and offshore sectors accelerate decarbonization and digital transformation.
Dr. Jeffrey Guo has been appointed Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore, while Maciej Lepicki has been appointed Vice President, Greater China. Both appointments took effect on June 1, 2026.
In his new role, Dr. Guo will oversee the strategic development and operational management of Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore’s business across Asia Pacific. His responsibilities will include market growth, customer engagement, innovation and organizational development across one of the world’s most important maritime regions.
Dr. Guo brings more than two decades of international experience across classification, shipping and energy. His career includes technical, commercial and leadership roles with ABS, SeaRiver Maritime, ExxonMobil and QatarEnergy LNG. His background gives him broad experience across classification services, shipowning operations and energy transportation.
Maciej Lepicki will report to Dr. Guo and lead Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore’s business in Greater China. His role will focus on strengthening customer relationships, overseeing regional operations, advancing digital transformation initiatives and developing local capabilities to support business performance.
Lepicki also brings more than 20 years of experience in shipping, offshore engineering and maritime services. He has held leadership positions with Chipolbrok, BBG Shipmanagement and Bourbon Offshore, with experience covering maritime operations, international project management, business development and strategic partnerships.
The appointments come at a time when Asia Pacific and Greater China continue to play a central role in global shipbuilding, LNG transportation, offshore energy development and the adoption of future fuels. For classification societies, these markets are becoming increasingly important as shipowners, shipyards and offshore energy players face more complex requirements in safety, compliance, digitalization and decarbonization.
Bureau Veritas said the strengthened regional leadership structure will support closer customer engagement and stronger coordination across Asia Pacific and Greater China. The company also said the appointments will help expand its technical and operational capabilities in the region.
Alex Gregg-Smith, President of Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore, said Asia Pacific and Greater China remain at the forefront of global shipbuilding, offshore energy development and maritime innovation. He said the two new leaders bring industry expertise, leadership and market insight that will strengthen BV’s ability to support customers as they navigate decarbonization, digital transformation and an increasingly complex operating environment.
The leadership changes also underline the strategic importance of Asia to Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore. As shipbuilding, LNG carrier construction, offshore engineering and future-fuel projects continue to concentrate in the region, regional execution capability and customer proximity are becoming increasingly important for classification societies and technical service providers.
