The agreement, signed this afternoon during SMM Hamburg 2026, covers a “2+3” newbuilding programme — two firm vessels plus options for three additional ships.

The MoU was signed by representatives of China Shipbuilding Trading Co. (CSTC), NOR Cruises and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS), marking another significant step for China’s cruise shipbuilding industry in the international market.

The signing also comes as Chinese shipbuilders continue to expand beyond their traditional strengths in commercial tonnage into some of the world’s most complex and high-value shipbuilding segments.
