FiS (Fleet in Service) Surveyor 

Job description

DNV – Maritime RegionGreater China is looking for a surveyor to join our Fleet in Service Team in Shanghai. You will be the member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving vessels docked at Shanghai / Nantong / Jiangyin and vessels calling ports and terminals of Shanghai & Yangtze Rivers. 

DNV – Maritime RegionGreater China is looking for a fleet in service Surveyor based in Shenzhen. You will be the member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving traditional shipping segments (Oil/chemical tanker, Container) docked in Guangzhou / Shenzhen area and vessel calling Shenzhen Port. 

DNV – Maritime RegionGreater China is looking for a fleet in service Surveyor based in Zhoushan. You will be member of a highly qualified team of surveyors and auditors serving traditional shipping segments (Oil/chemical tanker, Container) docked in Zhoushan islands and vessel calling Ningbo-Zhoushan Port.

Responsibilities

● Ensure that the work or duties performed are in accordance with the rules, regulations, instructions, guidelines and quality requirements of the organization and the instructions of the line management.

● Maintain the confidentiality of clients' business, processes, designs, developments and documentation

● Communicate to line management at the earliest appropriate opportunity if in receipt of information that is important to the reputation or integrity of the organization.

● Exhibit customer-oriented focus through promoting DNV onboard or on-site, and by acting as a technical resource for customer questions.

Qualifications

● University degree (Naval Architect, Deck officers, Marine Engineer & electricians) from a recognized University

● Min. 3 years of experience in maritime business

● Self-disciplined and continuous learner

● Adequate physical fitness in order to perform regular functions onthe job, e.g. climbing pilot ladders& tanks, crew boat launches, voyagesurveys.

● English proficiency both in speaking and writing

● Flexibility in traveling is required

● Availability outside normal working hours if the job requires

● Able to workindependently on surveys.

Advantages

● Passed China MSA surveyor examination (Group A)

● Related newbuilding or fleet in service experience with IACS member

● Technical competencies: Understanding of class, statutory survey work and responsibilities

● Maritime Management System audit experience
