COSCO Shipping Specialized will build a 65,000DWT semi-submersible heavy lift vessel Xinde Marine News 2022-07-13 16:16


On July 12, COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers signed a shipbuilding contract to build a 65,000DWT semi-submersible heavy lift vessel with Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited of CSSC. Equipped with the world's advanced dynamic positioning system, intelligent ship system and SCR exhaust gas treatment system, the ship is equipped with precision transport and intelligent environmental protection functions, and is the latest generation of Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited semi-submersible ship series after the completion of the update.
 
The ship has a total length of 231 meters, a model width of 46 meters, a design draft of 10.9 meters, a speed of 13.6 knots, a diving draft of 27.5 meters, equivalent to the height of nearly 10 stories, cargo deck area is equivalent to 1.2 standard football field size, with stronger load capacity, greatly improved cargo adaptability and economy.
 
The ship is equipped with the world's advanced dynamic positioning system and large capacity load discharging system, which can float from the maximum diving depth within 5 hours. The equipped intelligent ship system can collect data and provide decision-making reference for navigation operations according to sea conditions and ship conditions, with a higher degree of automation and safety. It can greatly meet the high precision requirements of Marine engineering equipment installation and transportation and the intelligent requirements of ship navigation and operation.
 
It is reported that COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers is mainly engaged in special ship transport and related businesses, and has a special transport fleet with the largest scale and comprehensive strength in the world. Semi-submersible ship transport business is one of its core businesses.
