Hebei Port Group’s Tangshan Port has officially opened its first fully automated container terminal at Berth 25 in the Jing-Tang Port Area. This groundbreaking facility marks a significant milestone in China’s port automation journey.
The introduction of the world's first next-gen, high-efficiency, cross-type twin crane system and the domestic development of the GTOS (Port Operation System).
The terminal has been selected for the China Ministry of Transport’s inaugural “Transportation Power Nation” pilot program, highlighting its strategic importance in China’s maritime development.
With a total quay length of 330 meters and the capacity to handle 70,000-ton vessels, this terminal is set to boost Tangshan Port’s capacity and enhance Hebei’s position in global trade, further supporting the Belt and Road Initiative.
Already, the opening of Berths 26 and 27 at the Jing-Tang Port Area in 2024 further strengthened Hebei's port infrastructure with two more 70,000-ton container berths.
This new fully automated terminal will play a crucial role in optimizing port operations, enhancing container transport services, and positioning Hebei Province as a new hub for international trade.
