SSE: boxship's average time in port and berthing in the first half of 2022

On July 5, the Shanghai Shipping Exchange released the average time in port and berthing of ocean-going international container ships in the first half of 2022.
 
In the first half of this year, the comprehensive service level of major Chinese ports was relatively good, and the average time in port of major European and American ports increased significantly.
 
Nine of the top 20 container ports in the world are in China. Data show that in the first half of this year, the average time in port and berthing time of international container ships at Major Chinese ports are 1.79 days and 1.07 days respectively, up 5.3% and 11.1% compared with the first half of 2021, respectively, which is better than the average time in port and berthing time of international container ships at other 11 major foreign ports (3.29 days and 2.32 days). The average time of ships at Shanghai port was 2.09 days, 18.5% less than that in the first half of 2021. The average time spent in port of New York, Hamburg and Antwerp increased by 4.43 days, 3.77 days and 2.46 days respectively, up by 73.0%, 48.8% and 7.3% compared with the first half of 2021. The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach were congested with ships spending an average of 7.44 and 7.07 days in port, respectively.
