Offshore wind power industrial park to be built in Dongying

Construction work for an offshore wind power industrial park started at Guangli Harbor Area of Bohai Bay Port Group on April 16, with a number of government officials and enterprise representatives attending the commencement ceremony.

The offshore wind power industrial park will be jointly constructed by Dongying Transportation Bureau, the Administrative Committee of Dongying Economic Development Zone, and Bohai Bay Port Group, which is a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group (SPG), the world's largest port conglomerate in terms of cargo capacity.

Two 10,000-metric ton wind power equipment wharfs will be built, and many supporting facilities will also be constructed, aiming to build Guangli Harbor Area into a freight distribution center connecting Jinan, Dongying, Zibo, Binzhou and Weifang.

China is committed to peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060. Being a large-scale State-owned enterprise, SPG will beef up efforts to develop itself into a smart and green port to achieve carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. SPG will promote the high-quality development of Bohai Bay Port Group, aiming to make it a home port for offshore wind power, and a hub for combined river-sea transport.
