On July 20, Dalian Shipbuilding Industry held a delivery and christening ceremony for the 307,000DWT crude carrier "NEW ERA" built for China Merchants Energy Shipping.

"NEW ERA" is the first vessel in the new generation of energy-saving and environmental protection VLCC series. It is also the 20th 300,000DWT VLCC delivered by DSIC to CMES.

The vessel has a total length of 333 meters, a width of 60 meters, a depth of 30 meters, and a design draft of 20.5 meters. It is classified into ABS.
The ship type pays more attention to the optimization of energy saving in the actual operation of the ship, in particular, greatly reduces the consumption of ballast draft and fuel, and improves the navigation performance of the ship in wind and waves.

This series of ships not only has excellent overall indicators, but also has excellent safety and environmental performance, meets the HCSR coordinated common structure specification, meets the latest nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide emission requirements, meets the requirements of EEDI in advance, and meets Convention on Hazardous Substances of EU SRR, etc.

This type of vessel is a re-condensation of long-term and continuous research and development of DSIC in the VLCC field, as well as a concentrated display of long-term and in-depth cooperation between DSIC and CMES. Its comprehensive performance indexes are world-class.

The ship was delivered 40 days ahead of schedule with the joint efforts of all the staff, setting a new record for ship construction cycle.
