On 12 August 2025, TAIZHOU Kouan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and KING SHIP (HK) LIMITED signed a contract for four additional 63,000 DWT multipurpose vessels, following the Hong Kong shipowner’s initial order for eight sister ships placed on 9 May 2024. This brings the total for the series to 12 vessels.

TAIZHOU Kouan, one of Jiangsu Province’s largest privately owned shipbuilders, has built a strong track record in bulk carriers, containerships, and stainless steel chemical tankers. The 63,000 DWT multipurpose vessel—the yard’s largest in this category—features high fuel efficiency, versatile cargo adaptability, and strong economics, fully compliant with the latest IMO environmental regulations and compatible with major global ports.

For KING SHIP, the follow-up order reflects its strategy to modernize and decarbonize its fleet, while signalling strong confidence in Kouan’s product quality, technical expertise, and build efficiency.

With this deal, Kouan’s orderbook is further strengthened, with parts of its production schedule now extending into mid-2029. General Manager Zhang Tao confirmed the yard will maintain strict schedule control to ensure safe, high-quality, and on-time delivery, and expressed eagerness for broader cooperation with global partners.
