1. On December 11, Wan Min, General Director of COSCO SHIPPING Group was assigned to Hong Kong as the Chairman of China Travel Service (Holdings) Hong Kong Limited. On December 10, Wan Min was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Yangshan Deepwater Port Phase IV Pier on Shanghai International Port Group.
2. Sources say the new generation 400,000 tons ore ship "Mingrui" (CMHI-167) built by China Merchants Heavy Industrial (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. was undocked Recently. At present, the outfitting work of the ship has basically ended, and the system commissioning will begin at the dock. It is estimated that after 4 months of hard work, it will have trial conditions in late April 2018.
3. Chinese shipbuilding companies received majority of orders last week, further consolidating China's position as a shipbuilding power. New Times Shipbuilding has won a contract for constructing eight 63,000 dwt bulkers from Cyprus-based Frontmarine.
4. China and Russia have cooperated on major projects in the Arctic: one year supplies 4 million tons of natural gas to China. On December 8, the Yamal liquefied natural gas project, the major Sino-Russian energy cooperation project honored as the "Energy Pearl in the Arctic Circle", was officially put into operation. This project is currently the world’s largest LNG project in the Arctic Area.
