On December 27, 2024, Hengli Heavy Industry celebrated a major milestone with the successful float-out of its first independently designed 306,000 DWT Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC), along with three 15,000 TEU container ships at Dock No. 1.
According to Hengli, the four vessels are the first batch of vessels to be floated out after Dock No. 1’s extension project, strengthening Hengli’s exceptional capabilities in building high-tech, complex, and high-value vessels.
World-Class Vessel Performance:
The 306,000 DWT VLCC, measuring 332.8m in length, 60.0m in width, and 30.0m in depth, features a speed of 14.5 knots. With advantages such as faster speeds, reduced lightweight tonnage, and lower energy consumption, its technical parameters have achieved world-leading standards for similar ship types.
The 15,000 TEU container ships was built for
Heavy Industries Samsung.
Enhanced Capacity with Dock No. 1 Extension:
The successful extension of Dock No. 1, completed in October following its launch in June, has significantly boosted Hengli's production capacity and operational efficiency. Despite the dual challenges of vessel production and engineering construction, Hengli’s team demonstrated exemplary collaboration and execution.
