5,000-Ton Crane Vessel Contract Signed Between Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries and DP World in Dubai

On September 10, Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) and DP World held a signing ceremony in Dubai for the construction of a 5,000-ton crane vessel.

H.E. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World emphasized that this new 5,000-ton crane vessel is a strategic development that will enhance DP World's global competitiveness and service capabilities. He expressed a desire for deeper cooperation with ZPMC to ensure mutual growth and success.

Rado Antolovic, CEO of Drydocks World called the project a significant milestone for Dubai Drydocks World, enhancing its project management and implementation capabilities, and looked forward to strengthening ties with ZPMC.

You Ruikai, Chairman of ZPMC, thanked DP World for their trust and support, stating that ZPMC is committed to delivering high-quality results and expanding cooperation with DP World.

About the Crane Vessel:
The 5,000-ton crane vessel, designed, procured, built, and transported entirely by ZPMC, is tailored for operations in the high-temperature conditions of the Persian Gulf. Key specifications include:
Length: 138.5 meters
Beam: 52 meters
Draft: 5.8 meters
Capacity: 58 crew members
Main hook: 5,000 tons with a lifting height of 120 meters
Auxiliary hook: 600 tons with a lifting height of 180 meters

Equipped with an anchor positioning system, the vessel is designed for offshore module installation, offshore wind power installations, bridge lifting, and large-scale engineering projects.

Once delivered, this crane vessel will be the largest of its kind in the Persian Gulf and Africa.
