Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping and Jiangsu Haitong Sign Contract for Two 63,500 DWT Bulk Carriers

Recently,Fujian Guohang Ocean Shipping(group) Co.,Ltd.，‌(hereinafter referred to as "Guohang Ocean") and Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jiangsu Haitong") held a signing ceremony in Nantong, Jiangsu, for the construction of two 63,500 DWT bulk carriers. Guohang Ocean Vice President Han Qing and Jiangsu Haitong Chairman Jin Xing attended the ceremony.

 

The 63,500 DWT bulk carriers, designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), feature innovative hull lines and Energy Saving Devices (ESD). These vessels boast superior hull design and low wind resistance superstructure, significantly reducing fuel consumption and improving performance in harsh sea conditions. With a refined structural design based on CSR-H standards and comprehensive lightweight research, the vessels' cargo capacity is enhanced. The ultra-large cargo hold design improves cargo handling capabilities, and the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) meets IMO Phase III requirements.

 

Key features of these vessels include the Smart Symbol N navigation safety assistance system, which offers night vision, fog penetration, behavior recognition, and collision avoidance alerts. Additionally, the Energy Efficiency Symbol E system enables real-time monitoring of emissions, fuel, and oil quantities, with integration to the company's data center for ship-to-shore information sharing. Furthermore, the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions comply with Tier III standards.

 

The 63,500 DWT series bulk carriers offer exceptional fuel efficiency and economic performance, making them a safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly choice for bulk shipping.

 

It is worth noting that in recent years, this 63,500 DWT Ultramax dry bulk carrier type has been highly favored by the market and shipowners. According to Xinde Marine News' comprehensive statistics, this year alone, 99 new orders for this vessel type have been placed, excluding the two new orders mentioned here.
