World's first LPG dual-fuel VLGC christened successfully!

Jiangnan Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, held a christening ceremony for “GAS VENUS”, the world's first new 86,000 cubic meter LPG dual-fuel VLGC built for Southwest Maritime on March 28.
 
The completion of the ship marks that Jiangnan Shipyard continues to lead the global liquefied gas ship market and further strengthens Jiangnan Shipyard's position as the global liquefied gas ship construction center.

The ship has a total length of 230 meters, a design draft of 11.4 meters, a width of 36.6 meters, a structural draft of 12 meters, and a depth of 22.2 meters. It is classified into LR and registered as Singapore-flagged.
 
The ship meets the latest requirements of IMO Tier III and SOX discharge, as well as the new IGC Code.Jiangnan Shipyard has delivered a total of 8 VLGCs for Southwest Maritime.The vessel named this time is the fourth generation VLGC of Jiangnan Shipyard, which is also the world's first ship with LPG as the main power fuel.

After being christened, the ship will soon be delivered and put into service on the Middle East/America route, with its sister ship set for sea trials at the same time. According to the plan, Jiangnan Shipyard will deliver 7 of the series of ships within the year.
