On January 16, COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry (Shanghai) Co., Ltd successfully delivered FSUR "ETYFA PROMETHEAS" which is the first MOSS spherical LNG carrier retrofit FSRU project in China, and is the first "Belt and Road" energy project cooperated by Chinese enterprise and the EU.

The retrofitted vessel "ETYFA PROMETHEAS" will serve the LNG terminal project at the Port of Vasilikos in Cyprus, an important country along the Belt and Road Initiative. The project is an important part of Cyprus national energy strategy and an important step towards meeting EU emission reduction targets and increasing the proportion of electricity generated by natural gas, which will help Cyprus reduce carbon emissions by 30% and reduce electricity generation costs by 15-25%.
