Hyundai Heavy Industries and China's largest offshore engineering equipment manufacturing company CIMC Raffles signed a contract for the construction of FPSO "P-78" of Petrobras.
CIMC Raffles finally won the contract after competing with two other Chinese shipyards.
In May of this year, Hyundai Heavy Industries and Singapore's Keppel Shipyard signed a EPC construction contract for the FPSO "P-78" with Petrobras, with a contract value of approximately US$2.3 billion. Among them, Hyundai Heavy Industries is responsible for the hull construction of this FPSO, with a contract value of approximately US$780 million.
FPSO "P-78" has a total length of 345 meters, a depth of 60 meters, and a width of 34 meters. The total weight is 128,000DWT. It can produce 180,000 barrels of crude oil and 7.2 million m3 of natural gas per day, and can store 2 million barrels of crude oil. It si one of the world's largest FPSO.
