On December 7, Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading joined hands with PetroChina International, COSCO SHIPPING LNG Investment (Shanghai) and COSCO SHIPPING Oil Transportation signed a contract for the construction of three 174,000 m3 LNG carriers.
COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation also released a proposal on investing in the
construction of three LNG carriers worth US$590 million.
This type of ship is
independently developed and built by Hudong-Zhonghua, and adopts the design of Hudong-Zhonghua's fourth-generation "Changxing Series" large-scale LNG ship. This type of ship is 295 meters long, 45 meters wide, 26.25 meters deep, and has a speed of 19.5 knots. It adopts
a global new generation of dual-fuel low-speed propulsion power system.
This type of ship is also equipped with advanced environmental protection devices, whether it is operated in gas mode or in fuel oil mode, it can meet the most stringent emission standards of IMO.
The three LNG transport ships will serve the trade needs of PetroChina International and its subsidiaries.
This project will further expand the scale of COSCO SHIPPING Energy's LNG fleet, enhance the business relationship between the company and China's super large petroleum enterprises, and enhance the core competitiveness of the company's LNG transportation business.
