U-Ming enters the field of offshore wind power

Taiwanese dry bulk shipping operator U-Ming Marine Transport and its Danish joint venture partner World Marine Offshore have signed an agreement with Thailand's Marsun Shipyard to build a CTV for the offshore wind power industry.

Marsun Shipyard will build two inertial M3 high-speed tri-hull personnel transfer ships for U-Ming Marine Offshore Company (UMO) led by Matthias Ens.

The new ship is designed by WI-ND Naval Architects and Sydney One2three Naval Architects based on the shape of the inertial trimaran. The two new ships will be built in accordance with the requirements of the Danish flag and will be classified as a passenger ship into the French BV classification society.

The two wind power ships are expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2022. UMO also plans to order two more similar ships in the fourth quarter of this year.
