Japan's "K" Line announced that it has placed an order for two 79,960 cubic meters of LNG ships in Hudong Zhonghua. The two new ships will be chartered by Petronas for a long period of 12 + 12 years, and will be delivered in the second quarter of 2022.
This is the first time kawasaki has signed a long-term charter contract with Petronas on a new ship.The new vessel will be equipped with dual-fuel engines with a speed of 17.5 knots and will be used to service Petronas, the Malaysian oil company, for the shipment of Malaysian LNG to China Shenneng from 2022.
This is the first large LNG ship order received by Hudong Zhonghua and Chinese shipyard this year. Prior to that, Hudong Zhonghua has received the construction contract for two LNG ships supporting Malaysia's LNG project on January 17.
Hudong Zhonghua disclosed that the new ship is China's first river-sea combined transport LNG ship, with a total length of 239 meters, a width of 36.6 meters, and a tank type of GTTNO. 96 L03 +, which adopts an efficient low-speed dual fuel diesel engine direct propulsion system. It is the fourth generation LNG ship with the largest shallow water channel in the world, and also another masterpiece of G4 "Changxing" series LNG ship family in Hudong Zhonghua.
