China, the world’s second-largest importer of LNG, saw its liquefied natural gas imports dipped for the second month running following record January levels.
Data from the Chinese General Administration of Customs shows that imports of liquefied natural gas in March reached 4.06 million tonnes, down from 4.35 million tonnes in the previous month.
To remind, liquefied natural gas imports in January hit 6.58 million tonnes.
However, compared to March 2018, China’s LNG imports were 25 percent higher.
For the January-March period, China imported a total of 14.95 million tonnes of LNG, 20.7 percent higher compared to the first three months in 2018.
