Total LNG imports via Tianjin customs in northern China reached a new high of 3.35 million tonnes last year, giving strong support to environmental improvement and clean energy development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The figure was a sharp rise of 74.62% compared with 2017. And the cargoes were valued at $1.87 billion, which skyrocketed 134.64% year on year, showed customs data.
Main supplying sources included Australia, the U.S., Qatar and another 11 countries.
The 2019 LNG imports through Tianjin customs are projected to further rise higher along with wider use of clean energies to replace traditionally polluting fuels like coal.
