Towards new horizons: GF Piping Systems expands its global marine business footprint to India, Vietnam, and Colombia

GF Piping Systems announces an expansion of its marine business to India, Vietnam, and Colombia – a strategic initiative designed to enhance customer support and extend the global reach for sustainable water solutions in the market. The Swiss flow solutions expert provides marine-approved products for the safe, efficient, and sustainable transport of water, gas, and chemicals on board.

The company is investing in the extensive training of marine experts and technical support to meet the growing demand in the marine sector. With a dedicated team, covering more than 30 onboard applications, GF Piping Systems offers tailored consultations on material compatibility for innovative thermoplastic solutions. Its marine portfolio features products that are compliant with stringent regulations by the IMO approved by leading authorities such as BV, LR, DNV, and RINA, ensuring reliability and top performance.

GF Piping Systems delivers a comprehensive suite of sustainable water solutions, including plastic piping systems—pipes, fittings, valves, and tools—alongside services such as stress analysis, prefabrication, training, and welding support. These solutions offer significant advantages over traditional metal systems by reducing the carbon footprint, providing corrosion resistance, and enabling easier installation and long-term durability.

Customers will be able discover GF Piping Systems’ marine portfolio at upcoming industry trade fairs such as Vietship Expo in Hanoi from 5 to 7 March and Colombiamar in Cartagena from 12 to 14 March, 2025.

Highlights on display will include HEAT-FIT, a fire-retardant solution for the PE100 piping system ecoFIT that offers fire protection for thermoplastic solutions in L3 applications such as ballast water distribution and treatment, or the patented thermoplastic Butterfly Valve 565 Lug-Style suitable for water treatment and chemical applications on board.

Óscar Ovejero, Global Head of Marine at GF Piping Systems, emphasizes the importance of the market expansion. “We believe that our complete solution approach, which includes corrosion- and maintenance-free thermoplastic components, global prefabrication capabilities, engineering, and full project support, can play a key role in the industry’s sustainability transformation. I am therefore delighted that we are now able to offer our products and services in India, Vietnam, and Colombia, thereby increasing our customer proximity.”

For 30 years, GF Piping Systems has been a trusted provider of thermoplastic flow solutions for marine applications, from water treatment to exhaust gas scrubbing. Beyond pipes and fittings, the company offers measurement, control, automation, and jointing equipment. Thermoplastics outperform metal with a lower carbon footprint, renewable materials, and lightweight design, easing installation and maintenance. Corrosion-free and lasting over 25 years, they also enhance energy efficiency, helping ships cut fuel use and emissions. In addition, GF Piping Systems has a global presence with 36 production sites and 18 prefabrication facilities in a total of 31 countries, and is therefore capable of customized solutions according to customer specifications.
