Xu Peng has been named Chairman and Party Secretary of
China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), effective December 30, 2024.
This significant leadership change was confirmed today on the CSSC's official
website.
Xu Peng, born in June 1965 in Tongliang, Chongqing, is a senior engineer and a graduate of Zhejiang University with a degree in Power Plant Thermal Energy. Xu’s extensive career spans over three decades in engineering and corporate leadership:
Former roles include Chairman and General Manager positions at Dongfang Boiler and Dongfang Electric Corporation.
Most recently, he served as Chairman and Party Secretary of China First Heavy Industries.
Xu’s expertise and experience make him well-positioned to lead CSSC, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding conglomerates.
The CSSC website also announced the appointment of Hu Xianpu as Vice President and Party Member of CSSC.
Hu, born in October 1969 in Tongcheng, Anhui, holds an MBA from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and brings years of financial and managerial expertise from key roles at China Merchants Industry Group.
Prior to joining CSSC, Hu served as Chief Accountant and Party Member of Dongfang Electric Corporation.
These appointments signal a new chapter for CSSC, aligning with its vision of continued growth and innovation in the global maritime industry.
