On July 19th, the maiden voyage of the Far East-Mexico Express (WSA5), co-operated by COSCO SHIPPING Lines and Orient Overseas Container Line, set sail from Dalian Port. This new route is a significant move by COSCO SHIPPING to actively integrate into the new development pattern and boost the economic development of the Dalian region.
In the afternoon of July 19th, the "OOCL Chennai" vessel departed from the Dalian Port container terminal, marking the official launch of the COSCO SHIPPING "Dalian Port-Mexico" container express service by Liaogang Group at Dalian Port. Against the backdrop of increasingly close economic and trade exchanges between Northeast China and Mexico, as well as growing trade volumes, Liaogang Group, in collaboration with COSCO SHIPPING, has been promoting the launch and operation of the "Dalian Port-Mexico" container express.
The COSCO SHIPPING "Dalian Port-Mexico" container express provides direct shipping services from Dalian to major Mexican ports, establishing a stable and convenient new logistics channel between Northeast China and Latin America.
"This route operates on a weekly schedule, with plans to deploy eight container ships ranging from 6,000 to 8,000 TEUs, offering direct access to major Mexican ports such as Ensenada, Manzanillo, and Lázaro Cárdenas. The transit time is over 10 days shorter than traditional transshipment modes, significantly reducing time and logistics costs for our customers," said Li Xiaoguang, General Manager of Dalian Container Terminal Co., Ltd. "The goods transported on this route include traditional deep-processed grain products, chemicals, and minerals, as well as high-value-added goods like auto parts, machinery, and frozen products. This effectively meets the shipping capacity and cabin space needs of hinterland enterprises like Fufeng Group, Meihua Holdings Group Co., Ltd. Group, CITIC Dicastal, and FAW Logistics in expanding into the emerging Latin American market."
COSCO SHIPPING will continue to leverage the brand advantages of the Mexico Express, deeply penetrate the market, actively connect with customers in sectors like auto parts, cabinets, decorations, and clothing, and enhance the overall efficiency of the supply chain through professional services. This will improve customer experience and satisfaction, contributing to the construction of Dalian's Northeast Asia International Shipping Center, International Logistics Center, and Northeast Sea-Land Corridor, and making a greater contribution to building a strong trade and shipping nation.
