SSY, the world’s largest independent shipbroker has today announced the senior appointment of Martin Hestnes, to the newly created role of Offshore Subsea and Projects Manager, effective from 1st September 2024.

With eighteen years’ specialised experience, Hestnes has built an impressive career, having held a number of senior managerial roles within the Offshore vessel industry. Having started his career at Boa Offshore, Hestnes then spent seven years at Gibson Shipbrokers in London where he held the Head of Offshore position, before moving to Fearnley Offshore Supply where he served as Managing Partner and board member during his nine years at the brokerage.
Based in Dubai, Hestnes will work alongside Head of Offshore, Frank Holck and the wider team to further expand SSY’s presence in the Subsea space.
Speaking on his new appointment, Martin Hestnes comments: “The Offshore market is vastly diverse and continues to provide new challenges and new opportunities – that’s what makes the job so interesting and has kept me engaged and excited for almost eighteen years”.
Hestnes continues: “Taking on challenges has always been a key motivator for me personally and I can’t wait to take on another new challenge at SSY”.
