COSCO SHIPPING Logistics Breaks the Crawler Crane Lifting Construction Record in Bangladesh

On March 8, COSCO SHIPPING Logistics and China Nuclear Industry Mechanical Engineering Co., Ltd. (CNECME) successfully completed the construction of a CO₂ stripper – the heaviest and longest equipment (603 tons and 68.5 meters long) under the GPUFP Project in Bangladesh, breaking the crawler crane lifting construction record in the country.
Since the crawler crane modules were delivered to the site, the project team worked together to complete the assembly of a 2000t crawler crane in only 11 days and finished the lifting construction of the CO₂ stripper, completing all tasks seven days earlier than scheduled, saving a huge cost of capital and time for the customer.
The GPUFP Project in Bangladesh is the first project for which COSCO SHIPPING Logistics provides value-added integrated services for the installation of large equipment overseas. Since the launch of the project material shipment, it has completed the integrated transportation and installation service for 46 sets of large equipment over 50 tons, successfully shifting from logistics service only to a logistics mode featuring the integration of equipment transportation and installation that has added a new service scenario to its business.
