Bank of China Financial Leasing Co. Ltd, based in Chongqing, successfully delivered a 99,000 cubic meter Variable Liquefied Ethane Carrier (VLEC) valued at over $100 million. This achievement, along with the delivery of a similar vessel in September, highlights Chongqing’s pioneering role in providing financing leasing services to Singapore-registered shipping companies.

This vessel, designed and built by Jiangnan Shipyard, is the world’s largest and most advanced ethane transporter. It can efficiently transport liquefied ethane, ethylene, and LPG, featuring innovative low-temperature cargo systems and achieving a 40% reduction in carbon emissions. Recognized with the highest award from the China Shipbuilding Engineering Society, this VLEC sets a new standard in sustainable and efficient shipping.
