On October 29, 2024, Hubei Jinyu New Energy Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. celebrated its groundbreaking ceremony, marking a significant advancement in the field of new energy vessels. The event was attended by over 500 guests, including local officials, industry leaders, and representatives from key organizations.

The project represents a substantial step for Wuxue City in the new energy shipping sector. The local government has pledged to provide comprehensive support to ensure the project's successful progression and timely production.

Hubei Jinyu, founded in March 2024, is the first shipbuilding enterprise to join the Hubei Intelligent New Energy Ship Industry Park, focusing on constructing high-end stainless steel oil and chemical vessels under 30,000 tons.

A highlight of the ceremony was the signing of a $150 million shipbuilding contract between Hubei Jinyu and Hong Kong Jintang Shipping Co., Ltd. This partnership not only strengthens collaboration in the green shipping sector but also enhances the development of the shipbuilding industry in Wuxue and the Longping region. It reflects both companies' commitment to environmental sustainability and local economic growth.

Hubei Jinyu’s facility features a 27,500-square-meter prefabrication workshop equipped with advanced cranes and testing facilities. With a projected total investment of nearly 300 million RMB and an expected annual output value of 1.2 billion RMB, the shipyard aims to employ 1,500 workers.

The Hubei Intelligent Ship Industry Park is set to become a leading hub for green and intelligent ship manufacturing in China, with a total investment goal of 10 billion RMB. Once fully operational, the park is anticipated to generate an annual output value of 10 billion RMB, making significant contributions to local economic development and the transformation of Hubei's shipbuilding industry.
