We're thrilled to announce a major milestone in maritime partnerships! On August 27th, in Hong Kong, Hengli Group and Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings Limited officially signed an agreement to build two 114,000 DWT LR2 product tankers, marking the beginning of a new strategic collaboration between the two industry leaders.

This landmark event was witnessed by notable figures including Jin Guowei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Publicity Department, and Xu Guangxiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Dalian Municipal Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department, alongside Zhao Shiqing, Executive Chairman of Wah Kwong Maritime Transport, and Chen Jianhua, Chairman and President of Hengli Group.

Under this strategic partnership, Hengli Group and Wah Kwong Maritime Transport will leverage their respective strengths to advance the internationalization and specialization of shipbuilding and maritime businesses. The two 114,000 DWT LR2 tankers, each measuring 248.8 meters in length and 44.0 meters in width, with a design draft of 13.5 meters, will boast a structural draft of 15.0 meters and a service speed of approximately 14.5 knots. These vessels, with a range of 25,000 nautical miles, will meet the International Maritime Organization's TIER III emission standards and the EEDI Phase 3 efficiency index.

This partnership not only underscores the shared commitment to innovation and sustainability in the maritime industry but also marks a significant step towards the global expansion of both companies' maritime operations.
