On May 16, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Greek shipowner Horizon Tankers Limited S.A. for an order of 4+1+1 50,000-dwt chemical/oil tankers. This agreement marks a significant step in the collaboration between Zhoushan Changhong International and Horizon Tankers Limited S.A., who have previously worked together extensively in the ship repair sector. This newbuild contract highlights the shipowner's trust and confidence in Changhong International's capabilities. The vessels are scheduled for delivery between the second half of 2026 and 2027.

The 50,000-dwt chemical/oil tankers are independently designed by the Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI), featuring full intellectual property rights. These vessels boast a total length of 182.75 meters, a beam of 32.20 meters, a depth of 19.10 meters, and a design draft of 11.00 meters, with a design speed of up to 14.5 knots. They will be powered by MAN 6G50ME-C9.6-HPSCR TIER III main engines. The design not only excels in energy efficiency and environmental protection but also considers the comprehensive performance over the vessel's lifecycle, meeting the stringent emission standards set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Currently, Changhong International holds orders for 10+2 MR tankers and 16 LR2 tankers. In the future, the company aims to further penetrate the medium-range tanker market, continually enhancing the technological content and market competitiveness of its products, thus establishing a renowned reputation in the shipbuilding industry.

This latest order reinforces Zhoushan Changhong International's position as a leading shipbuilder, demonstrating their ability to deliver high-quality, state-of-the-art vessels that meet the evolving needs of global shipping markets.
