On July 3, 2024, Singapore – Winning International Group and Hengli Group held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony and a celebration for signing contracts for six new 325,000 DWT ore carriers.
These six newly contracted "WinningMax" ore carriers, designed in collaboration with Shanghai Ship Design Institute(CSSC-SDARI), are a pioneering creation by Winning International Group. These vessels are developed in line with the company's green and sustainable development strategy, targeting the unique characteristics of the bauxite maritime trade and logistics chain from West Africa to China.
They also adhere to global trends in energy-saving and carbon reduction. These new vessels are technically supported and recognized by the China Classification Society and DNV.
Last September, Winning International Group signed a contract with China State Shipbuilding Corporation to construct two "WinningMax" ore carriers. With the addition of these six new vessels, Winning International Group is currently building a total of eight "WinningMax" ore carriers.
The "WinningMax" ore carrier measures 329.99 meters in length, 60 meters in width, and 30.50 meters in depth, with a draft of 22 meters and a speed of 13.9 knots. The vessel meets the Phase III requirements of the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI). Compared to Baltic Capesize vessels, the "WinningMax" is expected to reduce ton-mile energy consumption by nearly 50%. Additionally, it is designed with a methanol fuel preset and equipped with a 12,000 cubic meter methanol fuel storage tank, enabling future "zero-carbon" operation with green methanol. Winning International Group is building a series of ultra-large ore carriers to handle the ocean transportation of bauxite and iron ore from Guinea. The company is also increasing investment in a green fleet to achieve its core strategic goal of sustainable development.
At the signing and celebration ceremony, Winning International Group's Chairman Sun Xiushun (pictured above) stated, "Today's strategic cooperation agreement marks the beginning of our partnership with Hengli Group. We will establish a long-term and stable cooperative relationship and mechanism, conducting strategic cooperation in various fields globally and constructing more large-scale green vessels."
