Qingdao Shipyard named a 5900 TEU container ship "CMA CGM KHAO SOK" Xinde Marine News Sarah Yu 2023-09-14 16:27

On September 13, the second 5900 TEU container ship built by Qingdao Shipyard for Belgian company CMB was successfully christened at Qingdao Shipyard. The new ship is named "KHAO SOK".

The 5900 TEU container ship has a total length of 240m, a width of 42.8m, a maximum packing capacity of 6014 containers, and 1150 reefer containers. This ship is designated as “ammonia-ready”. It meets EEDI Phase III and meets the world's most stringent emission requirements and the latest IMO convention specifications in effect.
 
Compared with ships of the same type, it has a wide route layout, excellent loading capacity, high automation level, excellent reefer container storage, low energy consumption, and environmentally friendly emissions. It has been recognized by many shipowners in the international and domestic container transportation markets.
