On April 12, the first ship "KAVAFIS" of the 114,000 dwt Aframax product tanker series built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding,a subsidiary of CSSC, for ENESEL S.A. of Greece was signed and delivered.This is also the 50th Aframax tanker that Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has delivered since April 15, 2005, the first Aframax tanker "PRIMO STEALTH".
"KAVAFIS" is the latest generation of Aframax tanker independently developed and designed by Waigaoqiao. The total length of this type of ship is 249.95 meters, the molded width is 44 meters, the molded depth is 21.2 meters, the design draft is 13.5 meters, and the design speed is 14.5 knots.
The ship meets the requirements of EEDI Phase Ⅲ. At the same time, the emission of nitrogen oxides meets the requirements of Tier III, and the emission of sulfur oxides meets the requirements of 0.1%.It is an environmentally friendly, energy-saving, safe and economical green ship.
Since Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding signed the first order for Aframax tankers with Greek Stealth in 2003, the company has successfully delivered 50 Aframax tankers, accounting for about 5% of the global operating fleet of this type of ship. Major customers include 11 world-renowned shipowner companies including CARDIFF, Frontline, OCEAN TANKERS, Bocom Leasing, ENESEL S.A., spread across 7 countries and regions.
