On July 15, BGP INNOVATOR, the world's first dedicated hybrid node handling/multi-source vessel focused on shallow water OBN seismic operations, was officially named and delivered in Dalian Lushun Binhai Shipping Repairing & Building Shipyard.

As the only dedicated hybrid node handling/multi-source vessel focused on shallow water OBN seismic operations in the world, it has the integrated operation capabilities of full electric propulsion, integrated navigation, source excitation, node repositioning and data acquisition, realizing the operation in the deepest water depth of 5 meters, filling the blank of similar offshore exploration equipment in the world.

The ship adopts the all-electric propulsion system for the first time, which not only improves the stability of the ship in shallow water operation, but also has the characteristics of safety, environmental protection, green and low-carbon, realizing the digital management and intelligent control of the ship control system.

BGP Innovator has equipped 4 Wartsila generators providing stable and reliable electric propulsion benefitting for low carbon emission which conforms to the green concept of the Class of BV. And also she will enable safe and accurate navigation in congested oil fields with ZF Thrusters and MT Dynamic Positioning system (DP1).

It is reported that the BGP Innovator will leave Port Lushun and sail through the Indian Ocean before arriving in the Persian Gulf for operations.
