Hudong-Zhonghua signs the first batch of orders for Qatar's "Hundred Ships Plan"! Xinde Marine News Sarah Yu 2022-04-13 14:23

On April 10, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Trading officially signed a contract for the construction of four 174,000 m3 LNG carriers with Japan's MOL.

Earlier, MOL had signed a batch of chartering contracts for the four LNG carriers with Qatar Energy.

This marks the official launch of the first batch of LNG ship projects of "Qatar Hundred Ships Construction Plan", which has attracted much attention from the global shipbuilding industry.

The first batch of construction orders settled in China, enabling Hudong-Zhonghua to take the lead in the competition with international players. It also marks that "Made in China" and CSSC brands have won the world's approval again, and will surely usher in a new era of China's LNG ship construction projects.
So far, Hudong-Zhonghua has undertaken a total of 11 large-scale LNG carrier orders this year, ranking first among the world's major shipyards.

This type of ship has a total length of 299 meters, a width of 46.4 meters and a depth of 26.25 meters. It is tailored according to the technical standards formed by Qatar Energy's operation of the world's largest LNG fleet.

This is the third consecutive order of 8+2 large LNG carriers announced by the shipyards of China State Shipbuilding Corporation within half a month.
