"ZHI FEI", China's first unmanned autonomous 300TEU container merchant ship, successfully carried out sea trials in Qingdao on Sept. 14.

"The construction of 'ZHI FEI' has important reference significance for the development of China's smart shipping technology, guiding the formulation of relevant standards and regulations for China's smart ship construction, and will provide important experience for the future development of smart ships and smart shipping in China," said the relevant person in charge of Qingdao MSA.

The 300TEU container merchant ship "ZHI FEI" is China's first transport cargo ship with smart navigation capability and oriented to commercial operation. It is also the world's largest smart navigation ship under construction.

"ZHI FEI" has a total length of about 110 meters, a width of about 15 meters, a depth of 10 meters, and a design speed of 12 knots.

For the first time, "ZHI FEI" has achieved two major technological breakthrough of direct current and intelligence on the same ship, with three driving modes: manual driving, remote control driving and unmanned autonomous navigation.

Through 5G, satellite communication and other multi-network systems, it can achieve coordination with shore-based production, service, dispatch control, supervision institutions and facilities such as ports, shipping, maritime, and naviation insurance.
