China Huadian Corporation Ltd, one of the country's five leading state-owned utilities, together with privately-run Guanghui Energy Co., Ltd., is laying 171-km Qitong natural gas pipeline that will connect a liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving terminal with end users in eastern China's Jiangsu province, the company said on its website.

The Qitong pipeline, which starts at Qidong LNG receiving terminal under Guanghui Energy and ends at Nantong city in Jiangsu, has an annual transport capacity of 4 billion cubic meters, according to the company.

It would be linked to the West-to-East gas pipeline project operated by the state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation.

The pipeline project, with total investment of 1.26 billion yuan ($187.5 million), is expected to be operational by the end of October 2019, the company said.
