Qatar's AL MAFYAR, the largest LNG carrier to arrive at Tianjin Port, will be the 100th LNG carrier to be unloaded from a single berth at Sinopec LNG Terminal in Tianjin Nangang on Nov. 11, CCTV news reported.
This ship is 345.33 meters long and 53.8 meters wide. The deck area is about the size of three football fields. It carried about 91,000 tons of LNG across the ocean to Tianjin. After finishing the operation, the ship will leave the port tomorrow morning. The liquefied natural gas left in Tianjin Port can reach 120 million cubic meters after gasification, which will be used to supply natural gas in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
With more and more clean energy being used as the main heating source, the frequency of receiving and discharging of LNG ships has been gradually increased in Tianjin's Nanjiang and Dagang Port areas in recent days. Tianjin maritime authorities have also opened a green channel for LNG ships. It is expected that Tianjin Port will receive and unload 5,304,000 tons of liquefied natural gas during the heating period this year.
