Daily crude steel production at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 1.92 million tonnes during October 21-31, down 5.65% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily output of pig iron averaged 1.82 million tonnes during the same period, falling 4.03% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel rose 2.10% from ten days ago to 2.06 million tonnes as several key member firms conducted centralized settlement at the end of October.
Nationwide, daily output of crude steel was estimated to decrease 3.68% from ten days ago to 2.62 million tonnes. The daily pig iron production is anticipated to be 2.30 million tonnes, a 2.94% slip compared to ten days earlier, and daily finished steel output at 3.79 million tonnes, down 2.86%.
As of October 31, CISA key member steel mills held 13.77 million tonnes of finished steel in stock, 16.60% or 2.74 million tonnes lower than in mid-October and down 9.68% or 1.48 million tonnes compared with the same period in September. The volume was 16.40% or 2.70 million tonnes lower than the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
