Port Hedland Jul iron ore exports to China down 8% on yr

Iron ore exports to China from Australia's Port Hedland declined 8.02% from a year earlier to 37.21 million tonnes in July, according to the Pilbara Ports Authority.
 
It was also 18.40% lower than June. The shipments to China accounted for 85% of the port's total iron ore exports in the month.


Port Hedland is one of the world's largest iron ore export ports, used by three of the world's top four iron ore miners - BHP Group, Fortescue Metals Group and Roy Hill Holdings.
 
In July, Port Hedland's total iron ore exports reached 43.74 million tonnes, down 6.78% on the year and 15.76% on the month, data showed.
 
Total exports over January-July of this year fell 1.38% year on year to 320 million tonnes. Shipments to China slipped 1.25% to 274 million tonnes, accounting for 86% of the total.
