Crude oil futures opened higher Tuesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.
The most active crude oil contract for May delivery was up 15.5 yuan (about 2.18 U.S. dollars) to open at 250.1 yuan a barrel.
China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investors in March 2018.
