The maritime and logistics industry is set to experience a groundbreaking event as the finalists for the 6th annual startup pitch competition, The Captain’s Table, have been announced. Scheduled for November 21st in Hong Kong, this event will highlight innovative startups poised to transform the maritime sector. Held at the prestigious Cloud 39 Ballroom in the new Henderson building, it is a much-anticipated part of Hong Kong Maritime Week.
Finalists will present their solutions to a distinguished panel of judges made up of industry leaders and maritime experts. The audience of over 200 guests, along with their online viewers, provides an excellent opportunity for emerging entrepreneurs to gain visibility, network with seasoned professionals, and secure potential investments.
This year, the team received more than 40 applications from 19 different countries, including Colombia, Canada, and Iceland. Co-Founder Su Yin Anand remarked, “The standards rise every year, and choosing just 7 finalists to showcase was a significant challenge for us and the panel.”
Here are the finalists:
Anlan Tech: A leading marine hull and cargo insurance technology company using advanced AI to protect insured vessels and cargoes (China).
NavGuide Solutions: Utilises technology to significantly enhance vessel performance in inspections through skills development and patented microlearning tools (India).
Flyz Robotics: Offers a unique autonomous platform for deploying sensors, devices, and packages on vertical walls and hard-to-reach areas in challenging environments (Israel).
Swiss Ocean Technology: Presenting AnchorGuardian, which ensures safe and sustainable anchoring for any vessel type (Switzerland).
Shipfinex: Redefines ship finance by enabling streamlined capital access for shipowners and providing investors with ship ownership through blockchain (UAE).
PsyFyi: Introducing SeaQ, an advanced data collection tool that improves safety by identifying environmental and behavioral risks (UK).
Fleet Robotics: Developed a compact autonomous robot for monitoring surface conditions, coating thickness, and biofouling levels on ship hulls, making it easy for the crew to use and providing valuable insights and analytics.
The event, which celebrates industry innovation will be live-streamed on Splash247, WMMF and other media platforms.
