Sustainability, recruitment, training, welfare, and safety are all on the agenda for the Seatrade Maritime Crew Connect Global conference, which will take place 12 – 14 November 2024 at Shangri-La The Fort - Manila, The Philippines.
Established in 1999, Crew Connect Global (now part of Seatrade Maritime's portfolio) is globally renowned as maritime’s leading conference and event for those involved in recruiting, managing, training, and supporting seafarers.
This year's agenda will provide critical airtime to a number of topical industry themes, which will allow attendees to reflect on progress, address current challenges, and focus on finding solutions that unlock new opportunities.
Speaking ahead of this year's event, a representative from 2024 platinum sponsor OSM Thome said: “Being part of Seatrade Maritime Crew Connect Global is our dedication to championing the welfare of seafarers globally, forging partnerships to enhance their livelihoods, and ensuring their voices are heard in the maritime community. Without seafarers there would be no shipping industry and we must put them at the centre of everything we do.”
The conference will get underway with the Cruise Connect Summit, before leading onto the opening keynote session, the Crewing Think Tank. This new format for 2024 will bring together leading associations and practitioners of the industry to looking at future challenges and regulatory progress. The outcomes will then be published in future whitepapers and report after the event has concluded.
“The conference at Seatrade Maritime Crew Connect Global 2024 will provide a backdrop for industry professionals to explore the most relevant topics to the crewing sector, including the clean energy transition, regulatory and policy updates, and the next stages of the STWC revision, to just name a few of the sessions scheduled for the three days,” said Chris Morley, Group Director of Seatrade Maritime.
“Attendees can expect an engaging line-up of keynotes and workshops, along with some new features too, such as our parliamentary-style debate. This session will see two “houses” go up against one another to debate a soon-to-be-revealed statement. We will also be hosting a series of fascinating seafarer interviews, which will truly keep attendees connected with the subject of this conference,” continued Morley.
