COSCO SHIPPING Bulk, together with CITIC Financial Leasing and Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding, has signed a landmark agreement for the construction and leasing of 30 x 80,000 DWT multipurpose grain carriers.
This major newbuilding order marks a significant step in optimizing fleet structure, enhancing transport capacity for key commodities like grain, and supporting China’s “national ships, built in China” initiative.
The vessels will feature flexible cargo holds capable of transporting bulk grain, containers, project cargo, and breakbulk, forming a new strategic pillar for COSCO SHIPPING Bulk’s global operations.
This cooperation reflects a powerful synergy of shipbuilding, financing, and operations — backed by a shared commitment to Party-led development and industrial integration.
