Celebrating the Grand Finale: ZIM ALBATROSS Delivered to NAVIOS Xinde Marine News Pang Kai 2024-12-10 10:32


On December 9, ZHOUSHAN CHANGHONG INTERNATIONAL SHIPYARD successfully delivered the 10th and final 5,300 TEU container vessel, ZIM ALBATROSS (CHB2015), to NAVIOS MARITIME PARTNERS L.P.

This project marks the conclusion of the first collaboration between CHANGHONG INTERNATIONAL and NAVIOS, delivering all ten vessels with exceptional quality and precision. ZIM ALBATROSS stands as a testament to innovative ship design and sustainable engineering, featuring:

Dimensions: Length of ~237.8m, width of 38.8m, and depth of 21.8m.
Class: Certified by DNV Classification Society.
Efficiency: Equipped with a high-efficiency, energy-saving main engine, achieving a 30%+ reduction in the EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index), surpassing Phase 3 requirements.
Capacity: Accommodates 3,845 14T containers—145 to 345 more than comparable designs—with 1,000 reefer plugs, supporting simultaneous transport of 750 refrigerated containers.
Sustainability: Features ultra-low sulfur fuel systems, AMP, SCR, and BWMS, embodying a green and environmentally friendly sailing philosophy.

ZIM ALBATROSS is scheduled to set sail on December 10, with its maiden voyage bound for Cai Mep Port, Vietnam.

This series of vessels represents a bold step forward in container ship design, featuring an innovative wide-beam concept and state-of-the-art green technology. The success of this project underscores CHANGHONG INTERNATIONAL’s commitment to excellence and strengthens the foundation for future collaborations, such as the upcoming LR2 product crude oil tanker project.
