Seacon Shipping Group has recently acquired two new ships, an 85,000 DWT bulk carrier and a 13,500 DWT multi-purpose vessel, which were built in China and Japan respectively. Both vessels will be managed by Seacon Shipmanagement Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Seacon Shipping Group. The 85,000 DWT bulk carrier, named "SEACON OSLO," was built by Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited. The 13,500 DWT multi-purpose vessel, named "SEACON YOKOHAMA," was built by Murakami Hide Shipbuilding. With these new acquisitions, Seacon's controlled fleet has reached 25 vessels with a controlled capacity of 1.36 million DWT.

On 28th September, the 85,000 DWT bulk carrier built for Seacon Shipping Group Holdings Limited by Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Company Limited, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), in conjunction with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Limited, was named and delivered.

"SEACON OSLO" is the first bulk carrier independently designed by Huangpu Wenchong, and also the largest bulk carrier independently developed by Guangdong Province, with an overall length of 228.9 meters, a width of 36 meters, a depth of 20.15 meters, a design draft of 11.8 meters, a structural draft of 14 meters.  It is suitable for loading bulk cargo including coal, ore, grain, cement and so on.
"SEACON OSLO" not only meets the new Panama Canal rules, but also meets the requirements of global sulphur emission limits, the latest vibration and noise regulations, the green environmental standards and the latest Classification Society rules.

It is also worth mentioning that just two days before the delivery of "SEACON OSLO" (September 26), a 13,500 DWT double-decked multi-purpose vessel "SEACON OSLO", built by Japan's Murakami Hide Shipbuilding for Seacon Shipping Group was successfully delivered.

It is understood that "SEACON YOKOHAMA" is more fuel-efficient than other cargo ships currently operated by Seacon, with higher operational efficiency, in line with the latest environmental regulations and the requirements of the current code in the shipping industry.

With the addition of two bulk carriers, SEACON YOKOHAMA and SEACON OSLO, Seacon's controlled fleet has reached 25 vessels with a controlled capacity of 1.36 million DWT, while 9 vessels are under construction with a new-building capacity of 420,000 DWT.
