Recently, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard signed a large order of 10 10,300 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships with the world-renowned shipping company Mediterranean Shipping Company. These ships will be delivered from the second half of 2026 to 2027.

This series of container ships is a new generation of 10,000-TEU dual-fuel container ships independently developed and designed by CIMC ORIC with complete intellectual property rights. It is also the largest container ship that can enter the Black Sea through the Turkish Strait.
The ships are also clean, environmentally friendly, and low-carbon emission. The EEDI is about 50% lower than the stringent Phase Ⅲ emission baseline of IMO; Under the condition of 1900FEU ultra-high reefer containers, the CII can still be maintained within the healthy operating range until 2040, far ahead of similar ships in the market.
The ship type adopts LNG dual-fuel main engine and generator design, which meets the design of ammonia-ready and methanol-ready, so that the ship to fully achieve the zero carbon vision of zero-carbon fuel conversion.
This year, Changhong Shipyard has received orders for 16+4 ships, including LR2 product tankers and LNG dual-fuel container ships. The company holds orders for 48 ships, and the orders are scheduled until 2027.
In the next step, Changhong Shipyard will focus on the container ship market of around 3,000-12,000 TEU, giving priority to LNG, methanol and other green and environmentally friendly fuel ships, as well as orders for MR chemical tankers and LR2 tankers.
