DSIC started construction of two world's first 7,500 m3 liquefied CO2 carrier Xinde Marine News Sarah Yu 2022-11-22 15:29


On November 21, the world's first 7,500 m3 liquefied CO2 carrier No. 1 and No. 2, built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry for Norway's Northern Lights, started construction. 

The ship is specialized in marine carbon transportation and storage, with a total length of about 130 meters, a width of 21.2 meters, a structural draft of 8 meters, registered under the Norwegian flag, and classified into DNV.


The ship meets the most advanced EEDI Phase III requirements. The ship will be used in the European CCUS action plan after construction.
