Hudong: world's largest container vessel undocked and MPP heavy lift vessel delivered on the same day Xinde Marine News 2022-05-20 11:04


On May 19th, the world's largest 24000TEU Ultra Large Container Carriers (ULCC) No.2 built by Hudong-Zhonghua was successfully undocked in Changxing Shipbuilding Base. On the same day, the 13000-ton multi-purpose heavy lift vessel No. 12 was named and delivered at Pudong.
 
The 24000TEU ULCC No.2, designed by Hudong-Zhonghua, has a total length of 399.99 meters, a width of 61.5 meters, a cargo hold depth of 33.2 meters, a deck area of 24,000 square meters, and more than 60 meters longer than the world's largest aircraft carrier. It can carry 240,000 tons of cargo, and can hold more than 24,000 TEUs. The ULCC has the advantages of rapidity and low energy consumption, and all the performance indexes have reached the international advanced level.


The 13, 000 ton MPP heavy lift vessel named for delivery today is one of the classic vessel built by Hudong-Zhonghua. So far, Hudong-Zhonghua has delivered 12 vessels. The vessel has a total length of 149.99 meters, a width of 25.6 meters, a depth of 13.5 meters, a design draft of 6.8 meters, a structural draft of 8.3 meters, a service speed of 15.3 knots, a deadweight of 14,100 dwt, equipped with two 450-ton cranes, a total lifting capacity of 900 tons, classified into DNV.
