SUMEC, New Dayang Shipbuilding, Nanjing Jianghai Group and Nanjing Twin Rivers Shipping signed a contract for the construction of two 59,990 dwt domestic bulk carriers.

The 59,990 dwt bulk carrier is a new generation of environmentally friendly and energy-saving bulk carrier. It is an extreme type developed by New Dayang Shipbuilding for the domestic coastal dry bulk cargo sea entry business. It has the characteristics of shallow draft, low fuel consumption and good maneuverability.

The ship is 199.98 meters long, 34 meters wide, 16.6 meters deep, and has a design draft of 11.3 meters. The fuel consumption of the main engine at economic speed is less than 13.5 tons/day, the maximum load is close to 61,000 tons, and the emissions can reach Tier II standards.

After the ship is put into operation, it will mainly sail in China's coastal areas, the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the Pearl River Basin. It can carry coal, grain, iron ore and other bulk cargoes, as well as steel coils and other solid bulk cargoes.
